So, you've successfully booked your flight to Grenada and made it through the final leg of air travel. Perhaps this is your first time to Grenada, having finally planned a family vacation everyone is excited about. You've wrangled the kids away from their tablets and video games, ready to make the most of your time in paradise with family activities designed especially for you. Or maybe you're with your spouse, having planned a romantic holiday to explore the lush tropical rainforests of the Caribbean, spend time sunning yourselves on the beach in front of crystal-clear turquoise waters, and reconnect over hilltop candle-lit dinners.
Or, like the magnificent leatherback turtles that make their annual homage to Bathway beach, you're on your yearly trip back home to visit friends and relatives. You're looking forward to planning a visit to that perfect waterfall with a group of friends and a pot of oil-down (but definitely not looking forward to lugging the pot and cooler through the mud).
Perhaps Grenada was once called home, and after time abroad you're returning to old friends and familiar landscapes. You're wondering what has changed....and what inevitably hasn't. Is everything as you remember it? You're eager to rediscover your homeland's natural beauty, but want an authentic, VIP experience, without having to push-and-shove your way through of a mob of tourists to get it. Regardless of your reason for visiting Grenada, your goals are the same: to enjoy yourself and make the most of your experience. Well, you've come to the right place. I'm Local was designed to do just that, and your experience begins the moment you step off the airplane.
Your vacation starts here …
After disembarking, follow the signs to the Immigration area. If you've opted for our VIP Pickup, this is where you'll be met by an official Grenada Airport Authority Agent who will fast-track you through the priority line. Otherwise, join the appropriate line (CARICOM Nationals or Foreign Passport Holders) and wait you turn. In either case, give the Immigration Officer your passport and the double-sided customs and immigration form you filled out on the airplane. (An airline representative will hand them out shortly before landing.) The Immigration Officer will likely ask you a few simple questions about the purpose of your stay and how long you intend to be in Grenada. Once you've been cleared for entry, proceed to the baggage claim area nearby and collect your bags. Join the appropriate customs line (Green – nothing to declare, or Red – items to declare) and give the officer your Customs and Immigration form. Don't have the time to wait? Our VIP guests will skip the line and be fast-tracked through the Red line.
Upon exiting customs, all of our Airport Pickup guests will be met by one of our Travel Hosts (holding an arrivals sign with your name) who will escort you and your luggage to your awaiting air-conditioned taxi. Complimentary water and snacks are provided to ensure you skip the dreaded 'hangry' stage so common of air travel.
I'm Local knows that your time is precious, even more so while on holiday, so why not add a stop at an ATM or grocery store to stock up on essentials on the way? We want to make sure you have everything you need to start your vacation the right way, right away.
Cruise on in
We also know that, for those of you on cruises, Grenada is one of many island destinations, and that your time on each is limited. You want to make the most of the time you do have here, and that doesn't include waiting around for taxis. Whether it be the beach, shopping, or an island tour, you can count on I'm Local to provide exactly what you need, when you need it. Like all of our transfer services, your ride includes bottled water and snacks. We want to make sure Grenada stands out among the rest, and that you don't leave disappointed.
Sorry to see you go!
You've had a fantastic vacation; I'm Local's beach package umbrella afforded just the right amount of sunshine while keeping you cool, ensuring you go home sun-kissed instead of as red as the lobsters you saw on your snorkeling trip. Why ruin that glow with the stress of an unreliable taxi driver?
Or, perhaps, you're a local heading off on a vacation away from Grenada and want to start the journey worry-free. You know that travel doesn't always go as planned, but at least you can count on I'm Local's trusted and experienced drivers to be where you need them, when you need them.
If you're a cruise ship passenger you know that the boat doesn't wait for anyone; as it pulls out of the harbor you want to be on the deck waving goodbye to another successful day exploring the islands, not scrambling to find a flight to the next port because your taxi driver had poor time-management skills.
I'm Local understands that not everyone is on 'island time' and that our guests appreciate dependability, reliability, and a fair price.
All of our taxi transfers include bottled water and snacks, but it doesn't end there for our VIP guests on their way to the airport. After check-in you will have access to the airport's comfortable and exclusive Executive Lounge. Find the information booth to the right of the airline desks, at the end of the check-in hall. A customer service rep will escort you to the Executive Lounge on the upper mezzanine floor where you'll be able to enjoy complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, a flat-screen cable TV, telephones, newspapers and magazines, a fax and photocopier, conference facilities, a mobile device charging station, and WiFi in a stylish and pleasant air-conditioned lounge.
For those of you who aren't able to be one of our VIP guests, worry not! There is complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the airport and the Waving Art Gallery on the second floor, overlooking the airfield, is the perfect way to soak up some culture before you fly out. It showcases art by local Grenadian artists and is open to the public between 5:30am and 10:30pm.
Before you go through security make sure to have your departure record filled out; give it to the agent at the door to the security checkpoint. Once through security, the Departure Lounge features duty-free shopping, a cafe, and a charging station for mobile devices.
Safe travels, and we hope to see you again soon! If you have any questions or comments please contact an I'm Local Travel Concierge who can help you with anything from accommodation and party planning to grocery shopping and family activities.
