Balthazar River Tubing Adventure
close

Balthazar River “ain't named Grenada’s GREAT RIVER for nottin’, as we say locally” says Sheree-Ann. Fed from sources located deep in the island’s interior, this river is nestled between the exotic and magnificent tropical rainforest, flora, fauna and history of the Balthazar Estate. Our river tubing guest will experience, “a thrill of a life time!” A 45 minute drive out of the town of St. George’s through either the scenic hilly interior of the Grand Etang Rainforest Reserve, or along the breath taking Atlantic east coastline, takes you on to the Balthazar Estate. First stop, the launch site for the introduction and safety briefing. After the briefing you will be provided with your life vest and a modified river tube before getting into the river. Wet, wild and wonderful from the word go, with everyone in the water, the guides will accompany you on the journey, gently spinning and swirling in the currents of the river, as you take in the exotic scenery of tropical vegetation and wildlife, at the same time. A thrilling ride down the river, stopping only in the pools along the way to catch your breath. Then finally at the last pool, an opportunity for a swim before you enjoy a much deserved Rum Punch or glass of local fruit juice, before returning to your “home away from home”.

Savvy Full Day Cruise
close

Leave St. George’s Harbour and set sail up the West Coast stopping to snorkel at the Mollinaire Underwater Sculpture Park. We then have lunch on the beach at Dragon Bay then snorkel a second time at Flamingo Bay or head off to an isolated beach for some beach time. Includes freshly squeezed local juices, fruit, water, beer, rum punch, snacks, lunch and desert.

Picture sailing on a sloop whose history dates back to the early 1800’s when these beautiful hand built vessels plied their trade up and down the Caribbean chain from St. Barths to Trinidad trading all manner of goods from rum to cigarettes to spices. The art of boatbuilding has been the lifeblood of our sister islands Carriacou and Petite Martinique for hundreds of years but unfortunately over the last 50 years the mallets could no longer be heard as the industry went into decline due to traders preferring to buy steel cargo boats instead of the hand built sloops.

Day 1

9am – Depart Grenada on the Osprey Ferry and meet Savvy in Hillsborough Carriacou. This trip is EC$80 per person. At this point the guest will have some brunch at Kayak Café while the Captain takes their passports to clear them out of Grenada

1pm – Sail to Anse Le Roche Beach to swim

4pm – Arrive Union Island to clear into St. Vincent (This is EC$100 per person). Guest will be dinghied over to Happy Island for some sundowners while the Captain clears them into St Vincent. At night you can explore the small island nightlife of Union Island which has a noumber of very cool bars, restaurants and a livelier nightlife than some of the other smaller islands. Or just sit back on the beach with a cold beer and watch the kitesurfers do their stunts on the beach

Day 2 - Leave Union Island for Mayreau arriving at 8am.

10am – Depart for The Tobago Cays to swim with turtles, explore the island or just lounge on the beach

1pm – Depart the Tobago Cays for Sandy Island.

3pm- Depart Sandy Island for Grenada arriving at approximately 9pm

On this trip our guests have a choice of either coming with their own food and drink (we provide 4 very large coolers) or we can take them to different restaurants and bars to eat. Our advice is to do a mixture of the two, we have a stove, oven and outdoor BBQ where we can help get food ready but we also suggest very simple foods on this trip just to make life easier.

This trip is not 5 star accommodation in the traditional sense, it is more like glamorous camping. You are guaranteed however to see some of the most amazing islands, beautiful waters ,sunsets, sunrises, and sea-life anywhere.

Additional expenses include food, drinks, ice, ferry (EC$80 per person), customs and mooring fees (EC$100 per person)

Sea Sun Adventure Pilot Your Boat Dinghy Tours

Get ready for some wet and wild fun when you explore the island on E-Sea Riders: fast, two-person inflatable motorboats. You're the pilot on an exhilarating adventure that includes a stop with snorkeling. After a brief transfer to the E-Sea Riders base in the lagoon of St George’s, you are welcomed by the enthusiastic staff that provides an orientation on boat operation before heading off across the Caribbean side of Grenada. Follow your guide, passing large yachts in Port Louis Marina and inside the charming Carenage of St George’s before entering the Caribbean Sea.  After a trip alongside the picturesque and colorful coastline, you will stop at, your snorkeling destination. Here you can choose to snorkel on submerged statues by sculptor Jason De Caires Taylor, or swim in the quiet waters of the bay.  Then the pack plays with the waves going south before slowing down for a smooth ride along "Grand Anse" and the gorgeous little coves on its south side...Having caught amazing snap shots and enjoyed a last swim at "Morne Rouge", we play a little more at full speed while heading back to "St Georges". E-Sea Riders Boat accommodate up to two persons. All drivers must present a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old. Supplied safety vest must be worn at all times. Seafaris West Coast Powerboat Tour

The ride on our vessel is nothing short of amazing, very dry and extremely smooth. Its construction means that it is fast, light, agile and quite unlike anything else in Grenada with no bashing through the seas like normal boats. We ride over the waves as only a RIB can. As we cruise into the bays we slow down and drift for a while and your guide will tell you about, amongst other things the history, geography and ecology of the island. In between the calm and gentle cruising it's smiles all round as we dash to the next place of interest. You will learn about the volcanic beginnings of the Caribbean, Grenada's active underwater volcano, Monkeys, Armadillos, Whales, Dolphins, Marlin and Leatherback turtles that can weigh as much as 2000lbs (that's about the same as everybody on the boat!). The diversity on and around Grenada is amazing and we will tell you about it all.
